World Environment Day Observation

Environment Day is a global event observed on June 5th to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our planet. It’s a day to remind us to take action to reduce our environmental impact and preserve natural resources for future generations.
As part of the environment day observation, a tree-planting ceremony was held in the campus, led by Rev. Fr. Joseph Alappat CMI, Director of the college, Principal, Mrs. Shereena Johny, Vice Principal Mr. Ranji Joseph, Mr. Mohanan M. S., College Superintendent, and student representatives, along with Heads of various Departments, who collectively planted saplings in the college campus to promote environmental awareness.
The dignitaries emphasized the significance of conserving our environment and urged students to take action towards sustainable living. They highlighted the theme of World Environment Day 2024, “Beat Plastic Pollution,” and encouraged the students to reduce plastic usage and promote eco-friendly practices.
Pencil drawing and photography competitions, which saw enthusiastic participation from students. Sahla V N (S5, BBA) and Keerthana K P (M3, MA) bagged the first prize. The competitions aimed to encourage creativity and awareness about environmental conservation.
The programme aimed to inspire students to become responsible stewards of the environment and to foster a sense of responsibility towards protecting the planet. The event successfully promoted environmental awareness and encouraged students to take small steps towards making a big difference. The Enviro Club’s initiative demonstrated the college’s dedication to nurturing an eco-conscious community, and the event will surely have a lasting impact on the students and the campus.
