HISTORY

St. Joseph’s Arts and Science college was established in 2015 with the aim of providing higher education to the students in and around Pavaratty. Initially there were only 3 programmes namely B.Com Finance, B.Com Co-operation and B A English. Of these the complementary papers of B A English programme come under the Department of Journalism. Mr. Arun Francis has been working in this department since the early days of the college. The Department of Journalism is fully involved in all of the activities such as Arts, Sports and Literature competitions of the college. Department of Journalism has taken its effort to ensure the success of the 3 days National Seminar with English department and College Fest Inspiro with Literary Club.

The reputation of the Department of Journalism is enhanced by the high level of student achievement in complementary papers. It is also proud to say that their department was behind the release of 2 short films – Creative glory of college students. This department also clearly assists in arranging our college magazine in a way that is comparable to any other college magazine.

Finally it is proud to announce that the Department of Journalism will be at the forefront of this college’s all-round development with full sense of duty.
