U. Can. Me. – World Cup Football Fest 2026

U. Can. Me. (USA, Canada, Mexico), a grand celebration inspired by the FIFA World Cup 2026 host nations, was organized at St. Joseph’s Arts and Science College, Pavaratty, on 12 June 2026 with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit.

The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Renjith A. K., Head of the Department of Malayalam. The Presidential Address was given by Rev. Fr. Sebi Palamattathil CMI, Manager of the college, who emphasized the importance of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and unity among students.

The event was formally inaugurated by Prof. C. Raveendranath, MLA, who marked the occasion with a ceremonial kick-off. Joshi C. L., Principal of Bethania Institute of Management Studies, Kunnamkulam, and Former Syndicate Member of the University of Calicut, offered felicitations and encouraged students to actively participate in sports and extracurricular activities.

The Women’s Shootout Competition was inaugurated by K. D. Beena, Head of the Department of Hindi, while the Football Tournament was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Jose Kidangan CMI, Principal of St. Joseph’s CMI English Medium School, Pavaratty.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Shereena Johny, Vice Principal of the college, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, organizers, participants, and audience for making the event a grand success.

The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from students. The Women’s Shootout Competition was won by Fifth Semester B.Com Finance B Girls, while the Football Tournament Championship was secured by the team representing Portugal.

The celebration successfully brought together students and faculty in the true spirit of football, sportsmanship, and global unity, making U. Can. Me. – World Cup Football Fest 2026 a memorable event in the history of the college.
