SEMINAR ON ”AI: POWERING THE FUTURE”

The Department of Artificial Intelligence organized an informative session titled “AI Powering
the Future” on 13 January 2026 at 2:30 PM in St. Chavara Hall. The session aimed to provide
students with foundational knowledge and emerging trends in Artificial Intelligence.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Neethu K, HoD, Department
of Artificial Intelligence, who highlighted the significance of AI in shaping the future of
technology and career opportunities for students.
The session was handled by Mr. Joseph Sheen, Technical Trainer, Networkz Systems,
Thrissur. He began the session with an introduction to Artificial Intelligence, explaining its basic
concepts and importance in today’s digital era. He elaborated on how AI influences various
sectors and discussed several real-world applications of AI, making the session engaging and
practical.
Mr. Joseph Sheen also provided an overview of machine learning approaches, including
supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning. He further
introduced students to deep learning, explaining its role in advanced AI applications. In
addition, he familiarized the participants with popular AI tools and platforms such as TensorFlow and GitHub, emphasizing their importance in AI development and collaboration.
The session was highly informative and interactive, helping students gain clarity on AI
fundamentals and modern technologies. It successfully enhanced the participants’
understanding of AI and inspired them to explore the field further.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the session as a valuable learning
experience for all attendees.
