SEMINAR BY WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CELL
The Women Development Cell (WDC) of St. Joseph’s Arts and Science College, Pavaratty, organized an Awareness Programme on “Lifestyle Diseases and Women” during the academic year 2025–2026 under the coordination of Ms. Anukrishna P. U., WDC Coordinator, and Ms. Shabana M. S., WDC Student Coordinator. The cell invited Ms. Anju T. S., a dedicated RBSK Nurse from the Family Health Centre (FHC) in Pavaratty, to lead the session. As a healthcare professional, Ms. Anju provided expert insights into the increasing prevalence of lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, thyroid disorders, and cardiovascular conditions among women. The resource person highlighted the causes, risk factors, and preventive measures including balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, stress management, adequate sleep, and periodic health check-ups. The programme was informative and beneficial, reflecting active participation and interest from students.
