OBSERVANCE OF INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING
An awareness class in connection with the international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking was organized on 25th June 2025 at 11.00 am in the college auditorium. The program aimed to create awareness among students about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of prevention.
The event commenced with a welcome speech by Mr. Ranji Joseph, the head of the Institution, who emphasized the growing menace of drug abuse among youth and the need for collective action to combat it.
The guest speaker Mr. Afsal P A, Civil Excise Officer, Excise Circle Office Vadanappally, delivered an insightful session on the legal consequences of drug trafficking, the psychological impact of drug addiction, and the significance of preventive measures. His speech was highly informative and motivated the students to stay vigilant and responsible.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Rugmini, a final year psychology student, who expressed gratitude to the guest speaker, Administrator, Principal, Faculty members, and students for making the program success.
As part of the observance, an Essay competition was organized in both English and Malayalam in the Theme “The Evidence is clear: Invest in Prevention”. A large number of students actively participated and expressed their thoughts on the importance of prevention in curbing drug abuse. Additionally, a vibrant flash mob was performed by the college students highlighting the power of youth in promoting a drug free society.
